Job description: SBW Consulting is currently seeking a full-time energy efficiency engineer. We have a new multi-year contract with a California state public agency doing groundbreaking, cutting-edge, exciting, evaluation work and need staff as soon as possible! We have a stellar reputation in energy efficiency program development and evaluation, and are looking for a person with experience evaluating energy use in commercial and/or industrial facilities and a passion for energy efficiency. The primary responsibilities of this person will be to analyze energy efficiency projects and programs in a wide variety of contexts. This position provides opportunities for advancement and steadily increasing responsibility.

Job duties include the following:

Assess energy savings using rigorous analytical and measurement techniques in a wide array of primarily commercial and industrial facilities. This includes working effectively with individuals at these businesses.

Develop custom energy performance models and use building simulation software packages to evaluate energy savings.

Set up and perform in-depth physical modeling or statistical analyses of equipment, system, and building energy performance.

Conduct quality control reviews of efficiency projects.

Prepare measurement plans and project reports.

Work efficiently and collaboratively with others on complex projects.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:

Experience analyzing energy use in commercial and/or industrial systems.

Excellent writing, computer and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated physical modeling or statistical data analysis skills.

Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Education/Work Experience: The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of three years of professional work experience in the energy field with at least a B.S. degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.

OR

If no prior work experience in the energy field, then at least a M.S. degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
