Job Summary
CAD Specialists focus on specific areas of CAD design, such as 3D modeling, rendering, or simulation. They bring specialized knowledge and skills to the team, often working on the most technically challenging aspects of a project. This role requires deep expertise in specific CAD tools and techniques.
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior CAD Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and drafting of custom marine boat covers, upholstery, and related products. As a Senior CAD Designer, you will be responsible for developing accurate and detailed CAD drawings, collaborating closely with our production team, and ensuring the seamless execution of design concepts from initial client consultation to final product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Development: Create detailed and accurate CAD designs for custom marine boat covers, upholstery, and other canvas products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and durable.
Collaboration: Work directly with clients, project managers, and the production team to gather requirements, understand design needs, and make design adjustments as necessary.
Technical Expertise: Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino) to produce 2D and 3D designs, pattern layouts, and technical drawings for production.
Product Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in the marine industry to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table.
Quality Control: Review and verify design accuracy, specifications, and measurements to ensure the final product meets the highest standards of quality.
Project Management: Coordinate design timelines, production schedules, and assist with resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any design or production issues that arise, ensuring a smooth workflow and high-quality output.
Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years of CAD experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of fabrication and production processes in the canvas and upholstery industry.
3D Design Skills: Experience with 3D modeling and prototyping software for product visualization.
Skills
CAD Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in CAD design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar).
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings and specifications.
Creative Problem Solver: Ability to think creatively and strategically to deliver custom designs that meet functional requirements.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Marine Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the materials and construction methods used in marine covers and upholstery, including canvas, vinyl, and other marine fabrics. (preferred)
