MALSAM TSANG STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, an energetic, midsize structural consulting firm, has an immediate opening for full time BIM/Revit specialist.

We specialize in the design of single-family homes, townhomes, multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Our office is located in the vibrant Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle which allows for walking distance to mass transit, stadiums, and great places to eat and drink!

As a Revit/BIM Specialist at our firm, you will play a pivotal role in helping our BIM manager transition our projects into Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies. This position requires expertise in Revit software, along with a strong understanding of structural engineering principles. You will collaborate closely with our BIM Manager to streamline project workflows, improve collaboration, and ensure the successful adoption of Revit within the company.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with a passion for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and a strong background in Autodesk Revit software. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years minimum of relevant experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry, with a proven track record of successful BIM implementation and project coordination. In addition, we are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong self-starting capabilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the AEC industry, with a focus on BIM implementation and Revit software.

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software, including advanced modeling, documentation, and coordination capabilities.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders.

Experience in maintaining BIM standards, protocols, and workflows is preferred.

Knowledge of other BIM-related software and tools, such as Navisworks and Dynamo, is a plus.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Prior experience in wood framed construction a plus.

Responsibilities:

Manage BIM Project Implementation and Quality:

Coordinate project production including model set-up, translation of schematic redlines into functional BIM models and modelling in adherence to Malsam Tsang standards.

Manage model integrity, backups, and updates, including auditing, purging, and archiving.

Help maintain Revit families, including vetting, creation, and modification as needed.

Provide support to team members, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development.

Coordinate model content with the engineering team

Contribute to BIM Maintenance and Improvements:

Actively participate in the continuous improvement of BIM standards and production processes.

Collaborate with other team members to develop and establish best practices.

Document best practices to the project team and contribute to BIM assets and standards initiatives.
