Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Cloud Architect (Consultant) to join our growing Tech Cloud & Infrastructure Practice! This role will involve working in cross-functional teams to lead the design, engineering, and implementation of public cloud solutions across diverse industries. The consultant should have strong business acumen coupled with the technical depth necessary to lead complex cloud implementation projects for enterprise clients. We're looking for an architect who would be excited to successfully migrate client IT environments to modern cloud services and introduce Infrastructure-as-Code/automation solutions along the way, where applicable.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with consulting teams and client leadership to lead the architecture of highly available cloud and infrastructure solutions, with the goal of improving business and technical operations
  • Assess current state processes and technical environments, interview client stakeholders, gather and define requirements, and make viable solution recommendations
  • Develop migration plans and strategies to optimize or enhance cloud services, cloud-based applications, IT infrastructure systems, networking capabilities, and/or cybersecurity posture
  • Act as technical lead and make key decisions regarding the direction of your projects, including technology selections, team member workstreams, and methodology
  • Lead deep architecture discussions and design exercises to develop complex automation solutions for cloud deployment
  • Train and mentor junior consultants on cloud/infrastructure engineering and architecture best practices
  • Seek out new client engagements and contribute to Technology and C&I business/practice development

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
  • 6-11+ years of experience in an IT architecture/lead role covering areas such as public cloud computing (required), Windows/Linux systems, servers and virtualization, networking, security, storage/data center
  • Experience leading 'on-prem to cloud' migration projects into either AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform ecosystems
  • Implementation proficiency with any/multiple of the following services from either Azure or AWS:
    • AWS cloud native applications, Amazon EKS, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, ECS, Glacier, SNS, CloudFront, VPC, RDS, etc.
    • Azure AD, Cloud Services, API Management, Backup, VMs, Sentinel, Security Center, DevOps, Virtual Desktop, etc.
  • Proficient in using Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM templates to deploy hybrid cloud environments
  • Preference for experience with modern programming (Java, C#) and/or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
  • Excellent communication, team lead, and project management skills in fast paced, dynamic environments
  • Willingness to travel for out of town client engagements COVID-19 permitting
  • Bonus skills/experience compliance and regulatory standards (PCI, HIPAA, NIST, ISO), Microsoft/Office 365 applications, DevSecOps, business development, client management, practice development
