Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.Summary: Meta Reality Labs Camera Systems Engineering team is seeking research engineering interns with a passion for protecting user privacy and security concerns posed by image and video produced by AR and VR products.Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long, and we have various start dates throughout the year.Required Skills: Work with teams across Meta to propose mechanisms and frameworks to protect user privacy for current and future AR and VR products w.r.t. cameras and sensors.

Assess privacy and security implications posed by cameras and sensors in hardware and software architectures.

Evaluate ethics concerns posed by cameras and sensors in AR and VR products.

Minimum Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Masters or PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Public Policy, Sociology, Ethics, Cybersecurity, or related fields

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Familiarity with AR and VR products. Familiarity with camera applications in those products.

Familiarity with photography and videography concepts.

Understanding of privacy and ethics concerns presented by wearable cameras.

Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications: Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.

Experience with image data busses in embedded systems e.g., MIPI, I2C, JTAG.

Experience with hardware, firmware, and software reverse engineering (e.g., fuzzing, static analysis).

Experience or relevant coursework with cryptography and security countermeasures.
