Emergency Services Technician

Job Summary:Assists nursing staff by performing designated duties related to patient care in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and welfare. Adheres to instructions given my the nursing/medical staff and performs only those duties as described in the EST skills list and in accordance with established standards. All care provided is documented per department standards. Demonstrates strong communication skills in dealing with staff and consumers, and projects a professional demeanor. Participates in classes and skills labs, continuing education, and current CPR certification.Essential Responsibilities:

Assists nursing staff by performing designated duties related to patient care in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and welfare (obtains vital signs, EKGs, basic wound care, etc). Documents care in electronic medical record.

Maintains supplies per department standards.

Demonstrates good knowledge and practice in of sterile and isolation techniques.

Assists with instructing patient in crutch walking.

Applies splints and orthopedic appliances under the direction of the RN or practitioner. Functions as a phlebotomist as directed by the RN or practitioner.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

Registered Medical Assistant (Washington) within 4 months of hire AND Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certificate (Washington) within 4 months of hire

OR

Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) within 4 months of hire

OR

Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire

Basic Life Support required at hire

Additional Requirements:

Strong communication skills.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and clinical staff.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge and skill in emergency services protocols, patient safety, and clinical standards.

Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist credential or must complete training program and submit application within 90 days after hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting.

EMT training.

Work in the battery development lab requires a high level of proficiency in the technical aspects of the work such as pack assembly, terminating a variety of electrical connections on mechanical assemblies, and performing various assembly soldering operations. Once complete you will perform different tests to stress and qualify new designs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Building a variety of different battery packs and electrical test set ups, often rapidly shift focus from project to project, requiring a flexible mentality. Often assisting with new designs; working directly with engineering to determine standard processes and to vet new designs for improvement opportunities prior to production. Provide feedback on new assemblies, identifying needed improvements to existing designs and improving or updating outdated designs. Serve internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms. Each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe, affordable, and regular human spaceflight. Experience with using testing/trouble shooting tools such as a digital multi-meter, milli-ohm meter, insulation tester or Hi-Pot test equipment. At least 3 years\' experience in Battery or related fields. Attention to detail and passion for space. Familiarity with torquing procedures, sizing fasteners and harness assembly/disassembly. Experience and capability to interface with software systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.
