Job Description:

Senior Hardware Lab Technician- Contract role in downtown Seattle

Senior Hardware Lab Technician needed to support our downtown Seattle's growing Hardware test team. In this role, you will work with analog, digital, systems, firmware, and product engineers to test their cutting edge products. Use your skills to support work as part of an engineering team responsible for production test equipment. In this role you will conduct tests of complex electronic products, analyze results and recommend adjustments for revisions, troubleshoot issues & investigate production test issues. Working with a team, you'll have hands on support for troubleshooting and resolution.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of an engineering team responsible for production test equipment for RFID Readers
  • Conduct tests of complex electronic products
  • Upgrade products to new FW revisions
  • Troubleshoot issues found while testing
  • Collaborate with hardware design, firmware, system, and software QA engineering teams
  • Investigate production yield issues and product returns to determine root cause and implement corrective actions

Ideal candidate:
• Associates degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering or equitable experience
• 5+ years practical experience as a hands-on lab technician
• Excellent soldering skills!
• Ability to read and understand PCB schematics, layout, and component datasheets.
• Good record keeping and documentation skills with attention to detail.

Lapping/polishing surfaces to meet blueprint requirements. Final product hand finishing. Read and interpret blueprints to verify configuration meets requirements. Utilize measuring equipment such as gauges, scales, calipers, etc. Performs daily and regular cleaning including light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment. Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback. Excellent communication skills. Must have hard metal (SS, Inconel, Monel) experience. Excellent knowledge in use of precision hand tools.
