HOUSE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Candidate local to Seattle/Maple Valley-area is a MUST
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing property operations and managing vendors/property staff to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
The ideal candidate:
-is comfortable working in a family-oriented environment
-has strong administrative and organizational skills
-has excellent communication abilities
-has a proactive approach to problem-solving
-has knowledge of household systems
-is forward-thinking, able to anticipate property needs
General tasks:
-Communicate with housekeepers and gardeners regarding needs on property / ensure proper coverage
-Able to maintain/repair, understand maintenance schedules, and initiate repairs as needed
-Purchase any supplies the household requests (employers and house staff)
-Handle vehicle registrations and insurance
-Organize upcoming construction projects, plan for materials, manage trades
-Speak with Executive Assistant regarding schedules and ongoing projects
-Prepare for on-property events, including social gatherings, recording sessions
-At times, help schedule local appointments for employer
-At times, drive employer to/from airport - coordinate car pickups/dropoffs
These are the kinds of things that will come up during the job (experience not required, but would be helpful):
-Working with security systems
-Managing and maintaining trail systems
-Planting, harvesting, and treating plant diseases
-Maintaining pool and spa
-Sport fishing (i.e. proper maintenance and care of fishing tackle and gear)
-Boating/learning how systems operate
-Will be working with domestic and farm animals
-Learning/understanding local building codes, safety regulations, legal requirements, permits
-Operating and maintaining a variety of vehicles — trailers, large trucks/pickup trucks, tractor, excavator, ATV
Other Qualifications:
-Significant experience as a house manager
-Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes
-Preferably has experience working for high-profile talent/family
-Familiarity with managing property staff and vendors
-Valid driver’s license and ability to commute between locations safely
The role may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of employers.
