DescriptionAmazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect, who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EC2 Hardware Accelerated Instances that are powered by GPUs, FPGAs or Custom ASIC for Machine Learning, HPC and Graphics applications. The Solutions Architect will partner closely with the EC2 Product, Engineering, Business Development and Marketing teams to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption and revenue of EC2 Hardware Accelerated Instances. The SA will responsible for supporting strategic customers, profiling performance of new hardware platforms, optimizing end-to-end infrastructure performance, and support activities such as writing white papers, blogs, and creating reference implementations.Job responsibilities· Testing and optimizing end-to-end infrastructure performance for customer applications. Example – ML training performance optimization across P4d GPU Instances, 400Gbps networking, EFA, NCCL and ML frameworks. Other applications include ML Inference, HPC and graphics applications.· Increasing visibility of performance and/or customer experience issues and driving the team’s roadmap to address.· Testing and validation of hardware accelerators in consideration or new platforms in development. Such as new GPUs from NVIDIA/AMD, accelerators from Annapurna or other suppliers.· Help with troubleshooting customer issues and bring in engineering team to assist when needed.· Drive product adoption by collaborating with AWS Business Development Managers, Developer Advocates and Marketing teams to publish blogs, white papers and reference architectures.Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· Highly technical and analytical with 10+ years of systems development and deployment experience for HPC, Machine Learning or Graphics applications.· 7+ years supporting products and services, preferably cloud, hosted and managed services in the technology industry.· Knowledge of foundational infrastructure such as Compute, Networking, Storage, with hands-on experience with building robust and high-performance systems.· Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.· Ability to understand complex & technical requirements and come up with applicable solutions with quick turnaround time.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· An advanced degree in computer science, engineering, physical or life sciences or related discipline· Working knowledge of job schedulers and distributed/parallel file systems, underlying IT systems, and the HPC/ML development processes.· Deep understanding of the cloud computing and how it relates to ML, HPC, & Graphics applications.· Hands on knowledge with using hardware accelerators such as GPU and FPGAs.· Experience in a customer-facing roles such as consultant, solutions engineer or solutions architect· Track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups.· AWS Certification, eg.
