SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. Become an AWS Specialist SA!The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to- market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will lead the global GTM plan for Amazon GameLift. You are a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams around the world and set direction and standards for how we solve customer problems in your domain. You partner with technical and business teams across AWS and bring the voice of the customer into our product development roadmap. The WW team sees the big picture and sets the plan so the world’s most customer obsessed technical teams can make history.Key job responsibilities

Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Design and collaborate with the wider AWS teams to help customers and partners architect Amazon GameLift Solutions that leverage AWS Services

Engage with Solution Architects, Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to define a Amazon GameLift Engagement strategy for AWS operational territories and key accounts, with emphasis on top 150 gaming developers and publishers

Provide thought leadership on solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. This includes contribution to external publications such as the AWS Compute Blog, whitepapers and reference architectures, as well as internal training of Solutions Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers

Serve as a key member of the business development and accounting management team in helping to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.

Assist solution providers with the definition and implementation of technical and business strategies.

Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the worldwide AWS solution architect community.

Understand AWS market segments, and industry verticals.

Understand and exploit the use of internal business support systems.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications

7+ years management of technical, customer facing resources

7+ years of game server development and workflow experience

Developer experience with Amazon GameLift for gaming workloads.

Proven ability to understand Amazon GameLift user requirements and map these to solutions.

Experience in architecting an Amazon GameLift solution with custom AWS backends.

Experience in deployment, tuning, and management of Amazon GameLift technologies in a multi-user environment.

High level understanding of the underlying infrastructure platform and resources to run Amazon GameLift services.

Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.

Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams

Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: C, Java, Go, Bash, Python

Preferred Qualifications

History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises.

Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.

Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.

AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.

Computer Science/relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.

The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
