TEKsystems is seeking RF Engineers to support a multi-year project in Seattle, WAThis position is a long term contract role on a W2 basisThis position is onsite in the Seattle, WA area 5 days per week.Candidates must have reliable transportation and live in the surrounding areaCandidates must be authorized to work in the US for any employerThis position is not able to provide sponsorship for any work visa.Top Required Skills:

Experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) and lab set ups, and tools such as Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer

Networking fundamentals and network hardware troubleshooting

Linux experience, need to be able to log into Linux servers

Python, more of a "nice to have"

Aerospace Experience

Hardware Experience (running cables, rack and stack, installations, monitoring)

Networking (DHCP vs DNS, STP spanning tree protocol, Subnets Vs VLANs)

Linux Commands (searching for networks on Linux, memory info, etc)

DescriptionThis project is an ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The networking group is responsible for moving customer traffic across client hardware. The Software Health Automation team owns labs, infrastructure and services used to raise the quality bar by creating robust CI/CD systems that build and test the code on real hardware. In this role, you will design, build and maintain the lab infrastructure. You will be hands on, making sure lab devices are available for testing, while scaling team’s processes to ensure long term success. You will work hand in hand with development teams from software and hardware as well as program management and other stakeholders to make sure we can rapidly deliver high quality software.Key job responsibilities: Design, set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware Write software and scripts for operations to keep things running and highly available Troubleshoot software and hardware problems with pre-production equipment Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainabilityDay to Day Responsibilities:The successful applicant will be experienced in keeping technical infrastructure running smoothly and balancing high priority issues. You should be comfortable taking on ambiguous challenges like setting up new pre-production hardware for the first time. You should be able to define SOPs, metrics and alarms to keep equipment and test infrastructure highly available and expand the teams capabilities over time. You will be invaluable to enabling the team to move quickly and confidently with robust verification frameworks that scale with our systems.Environment:This is a demanding, collaborative, and fast paced work environment and candidates will need to be highly self motivated strong critical thinkers. Work is completed to a very high standard level. Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic qualifications 2+ years of non-internship professional software development or IT experience Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field. 2+ years of experience in any of the following: test lab support, operational hardware support 2+ years of experience with test automation, debugging, building test tools and testing frameworks 2+ years of experience working with Linux based systems 2+ years of experience in computer networking (admin level)Preferred qualifications Highly autonomous, very detail oriented, and willing to learn new skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience in developing product test harnesses and instrumenting products to gather test results Experience creating and expanding powerful automated testing tools and frameworksWe reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
