If you are a nurse with a passion for neurosurgical care and want to be part of a collaborative team committed to excellence, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position!Not only does this nursing position help to anchor the pre and post surgical care for our patients, it also offers numerous opportunities for professional development, clinical enhancement and leadership development Come be part of our team!Our nurses manage all aspects of the presurgical screening and education, including cognitive screening, detailed medication review, social determinants of health and post operative management. The RN has scheduled post-op face to face visits. Post-op visits may involve staple removal, wound management, nutritional assessment and medication/pain management review.RN’s attend and participate in a weekly general spine conference and a monthly complex spine conference. The purpose of the conference is to provide a multidisciplinary approach to care and decision making for surgery. The conference includes surgeons, APP’s, nurses, social work, anesthesia and psychiatry and neuropsychologists.RN’s partner with the APP’s and surgeons. Current Washington State licensure as an RN

CPR certification is required every two years

Bachelors of Science of Nursing Preferred

Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.

  • As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children\'s policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient\'s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children\'s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e., Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, Workforce Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) etc.
