This role is key in supporting the management of post kidney transplant immunosuppression, plus triage patient symptom phone calls, EPIC Inbasket, eCare messages and multiple prescription refills.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The nurse will also oversee the VCA (head-neck, upper limb and abdominal wall) transplant process, supporting patients from initial referral, evaluation, listing, transplantation and long term follow-up.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides expert programmatic specialty nursing care to post kidney patients by maintaining:Knowledge and care of kidney donors pre- and post-donation.
A close working relationship with the UW Kidney Transplant team
Ability to interpret data about the patient’s health and donation in order to provide appropriate nursing care.
Ability to interpret data about the patient’s status post-donation in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.REQIREMENTS
2 years of current acute care transplant nursing or ICU nursing experience in a variety of areas
Two years of professional nursing experience, including clinical nursing expertise in managing kidney transplant patient care. Prefer skills in transplant coordination/United Network of Organ Sharing and BSN.
Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or MSL license
