As a Sr. Software Engineer you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for Disney Studio brands. You will be a member of a team building the experiences for some of the most recognizable brands in the world such as Marvel, Disney, and Star Wars working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.If you:

Architect and develop core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript

Prototype new features and research applicable technologies

Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability

Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met

Work with product and project management to refine specs and timelines

Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions

Mentor and provide feedback to junior engineers

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years relevant industry experience

BS, BA or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or its equivalent

Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles

Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating

Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass)

Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Driven and self motivated

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles is $136,100 - $182,400 per year and in San Francisco is $149,000 - $199,800 per year and in Seattle and New York is $142,600 - $191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
