Overview

NV5 is seeking a Senior Staff Geologist with a background in geology, ecology, engineering, or a related field to join our Seattle team. This role involves performing routine, well-defined field and office tasks (both technical and non-technical) and analysis under professional supervision. Some tasks may require minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Conduct field exploration, inspections, and provide technical support under supervision.

Collect environmental samples (soil, groundwater, air, soil vapor, and stormwater).

Oversee and direct subcontractors.

Conduct field testing and operate technical equipment and instruments.

Collaborate primarily with internal staff, including your project team and peers.

Communicate test results and field data to other field personnel, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies as directed.

Manage and tabulate data.

Evaluate and interpret field data.

Prepare maps, charts, and run simple computer programs.

Review regulatory permit data.

Write field reports, internal correspondence, and draft sections of formal reports.

Adhere to NV5 site safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Review invoices from subcontractors and equipment/materials suppliers.

Qualifications

B.S. and/or M.S. in Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related technical field with 2-5 years of experience.

Valid Washington State driver's license.

GIT or EIT certification preferred.

The pay range for this Washington position is $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on/stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. NV5 offers a Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year and 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time hourly employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
