Senior DevOps Engineer

Senior DevOps Engineer with strong knowledge in

either Python, Java and/or GoLang skills and cloud project experience such as (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform) is needed to design, build and deploy infrastructure systems for managing a public cloud environment using containers, microservices, and other next-generation tools and technologies for a dynamic company.
This is a long term contract position with potential to convert to full-time.

Due to contract obligations,

candidates must be on our W2. Candidates are allowed to

work remotely until the virus clears.

Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer
  • Design, build and deploy infrastructure systems for managing our public cloud environment using containers, microservices, and other next-generation tools and technologies.
  • Empower engineering and data science teams to provision, maintain and troubleshoot development, staging and production environments through automated workflows.
  • Architect our deployment systems to be more reliable, faster, and make the best use of available infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify engineering team’s pain points and research potential open source solutions or design new solutions and guide team in the implementation
  • Collaborate with program managers and leadership to drive system requirements and deliver the maximum value to all engineering and science groups.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to integrate security controls into continuous integration, delivery and deployment processes (baking security into the infrastructure).

Requirements for the DevOps Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of expert knowledge in at least one programming language such as (e.g.

    Python, Java, GoLang)
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)

Considered a Plus for the DevOps Engineer:
  • Experience deploying Containers and scheduling frameworks (e.g Kubernetes, ECS)
  • Passion to work on newer DevOps technologies and explore the security domain
  • Experience with any public cloud-based provider such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
  • Demonstrable basic knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, application security, and experience supporting multi-tier web application architectures.
  • Proficiency in developing and deploying fully automated environments using Puppet/Chef/Ansible and Cloudformation/Terraform
  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with distributed data platforms (e.g. DynamoDB/Aurora, Hadoop, PostGIS, ElasticSearch)
  • Experience with Jenkins or other CI tools.
  • Contributor to open-source projects

Demonstrated experience in development, implementation, and testing of GN&C algorithms on aerospace vehicles. Experience developing requirements, interfaces,tradesand analyses for GN&C applications. Proven experience in modeling and simulation. Familiarity with flight management, guidance, control, navigation, and astrodynamics fundamentals. Experience inMatlab/Simulink/Stateflow. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications M.S. or PhD in aerospace engineering or related technical field. Experience in Rendezvous, Proximity, and Docking (RPO/D) CONOPS, algorithms, trajectories, rendezvous points, safety gates and corridors, and requirements for performing RPOD operations. Experience in full lifecycle development of GN&C and/or Autonomy on spacecraft including integrated tests in high-fidelity environments. Experience designing, evaluating, and simulating state machines. Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA. Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $125,400-$175,560 Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $136,800-$191,520
