DescriptionThe AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon’s innovative web services. Our designs are industry-leading in frugality and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of the AWS business and the more than one million customers who use AWS today. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and build architecturally sound, high-quality components to enable AWS to realize critical business strategies. As a member of the AWS Hardware Delivery Environments and Services team responsible for labs and manufacturing testing environments used to deliver hardware for AWS. We support Hardware Engineering Services teams with physical environments and services for testing and qualifying new hardware and services for EC2, S3, EBS, Edge, and other products. We operate the largest AWS hardware lab including facilities, logistics, networking, and lab operations, as well as 10 other smaller labs. As the owners of the manufacturing testing environments, we manage a large set of AWS Outposts on site to facilitate the rapid and secure server/rack testing before platforms are delivered to the fleet. AWS Engineers are shaping the way people use computers and designing the future of cloud computing technology – come help us make history!Key job responsibilitiesHardware Engineering and Services is looking for a passionate, talented, and well-organized Technical Program Manager who has experience managing multiple programs in a global environment across numerous technology platforms. The candidate will manage programs/projects for developing and supporting the environments in the labs and at manufacturing sites to streamline AWS hardware teams’ delivery of hardware to our customers. This position requires the candidate work with engineers and technical leadership across organizations to identify, collect, and develop required services for tracking and validating hardware quality, vendor yields, and enabling builders to have rapid access to tools, servers, racks, and networks needed in developing and debugging their products. This role will coordinate the development of mechanisms and training programs to help AWS builders build high quality hardware and support services, and maintain safe and secure lab environments.About the teamThe team you will report to consists of a diverse set of skills across many technical disciplines including Lab Operations, networking, core services development, software development, and hardware systems design and delivery. 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Experience in technical product or program management

Practical experience with engineering best practices

Driven to provide the best customer experience via technology

Ability to drive innovation

Excellent written and oral communication skills

The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
