Surgical Technician - Main OR

The Surgical Technician/Tissue Processing Technician isresponsible for the sterilization of surgical equipment, arrange surgicalequipment and adjust medical tools to ensure that the surgical devices arefunctioning properly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arrangesinstruments, according to instructions

Assists team members to place and position patient on table

Scrubs arms and hands and dons gown and gloves

Aids team to don gowns and gloves

Maintains supply of fluids, such as plasma, saline, blood,and glucose for use during operation

Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors,cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by the surgeon duringoperation.

Puts dressings on patient following surgery

Counts sponges, needles, and instruments before and afteroperation

Washes and sterilizes equipment, using germicides andsterilizers

Cleans operating room

Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Surgical Technologist certification as applicable per stateand/or client requirement

One year experience as a Surgical Technician preferred(Tissue Processing Technologist – only)

Degree in biology related field which includes a degree /certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age

In your role as a PI Technician, you will be responsible for the following: This position will be based at the Alstom site in Seattle, WA PURPOSE OF THE JOB Carry out the test of trains based in Seattle in accordance with the testing procedure and as per the delivery schedule. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Understand in detail the Acceptance Criteria of the customer for the Project/Product. Carry out the systematic Hand Over from Manufacturing.
