The Counter Team: Grocery Order Writer position is a pathway to the Leadership Team at C&S and reports to the Lead Buyer. This position is an opportunity to be involved in both "FOH" store operations (floor shifts) as well as "BOH" inventory operations (order writing). The Grocery Order Writer focuses on one store (Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square) and is the eyes and ears of that store's inventory, product mix, requests and ideas.
Responsibilities:
Provide superior customer service in every interaction, create a positive customer experience
Learn about our products in all categories, communicate product knowledge to enhance customer experience and sales
Prepare excellent espresso drinks, delicious sandwiches, and pour beer/wine
Process incoming grocery deliveries, rotate and stock thoroughly and consistently each day
Gain proficiency in all POS functions including sales, transfers, inventory
Track category sales and stock levels to inform weekly orders
Track store use supplies to inform weekly orders
Assist with and/or place orders with distributors and/or directly with small vendors
Assist with creating new product profiles in POS
Assist with monthly store inventory counts and expiration audits
Price tag/signage maintenance: consistently ensure all items have current tags w/ thorough info (supplier, price, etc)

Experience and Skills Requirements:
Strong time management skills
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be comfortable with standing/being on your feet for the length of shift
1+ years of experience in retail service industry operations
1+ years of experience in writing orders with UNFI, Sysco, KeHe, and direct orders
1+ years of experience tracking POs and submitting requests for corrections and remittance.
Operational background in retail
High-level customer service experience
Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate energy and enthusiasm in the workplace
Must multi-task very well
