Position Description:
Part Time Farmers Market Associate, location varies (Fremont Market, etc.)
Starting pay of $21/hr plus tips averaging $30-60/day
Discretionary bonuses for quality work and contributions
Work in a fun market environment with diverse customers and market vendors
Flexible schedule, typically involves a Saturday or Sunday (4-8 hours/week initially)
Duties include:
Assisting with booth setup and takedown
Interacting with customers in a positive manner and handling customer inquiries
Heating up and serving food safely
Lifting up to 60lbs occasionally
Operating POS system and handling currency
Maintaining booth cleanliness and appearance
Maintaining courteous, conscientious, and respectful behavior at all times, towards all people.
What we are looking for in an employee:
Honesty and personal integrity
Punctuality and responsibility
Reliable transportation (ideally a vehicle, but not absolutely necessary)
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to communicate in English
Ability to be flexible as work processes change
Willingness to learn and share feedback
Positive people skills
Proactive, clear communication
Previous kitchen or food service experience highly desirable but not required
Ability to stand for long periods of time
WA state food handler’s permit (very easy to acquire)
Ability to take instruction
Ability to maintain a constructive mindset in busy or stressful environments.
