Hiring a personal chef to cook once a week

Looking to hire a chef, nutritionist, or aspiring chef do meal prep for me once a week. Here’s what I have in mind for the role:

1. You send over meal ideas/options, and I’ll choose one

2. You pick up groceries for what you need to cook and keep the receipt

3. You cook the food at your home

4. Pack everything up into tupperware (I will provide) and deliver it to my home

5. I pay you back for all the groceries according to the receipt along with payment for your service

There’s also some wiggle room here for different arrangements that could work for me. Mostly I’m interested in finding someone who can cook a variety of healthy and tasty meals. As for cuisine, I like a lot of different kinds of foods. I have a set of requirements for meals and then some nice-to-haves.

Meal requirements:

Balanced meal. No meal is 100% perfect but I’d like to have a good variety of carbs/proteins/veggies for each meal.

I’m not a fad diet person, and I also have few dietary restrictions. I think meals should have a good proportion of fats, carbs, and proteins along with diverse veggies and in-season fruits.

I tend to eat red meat and pork less often, preferring impossible/beyond for beef dishes, and otherwise sticking mostly to chicken and fish.

There should be enough food 6 meals per week

The meal should store decently for the week. I’m not averse to a little prep when I’m eating this meal (like washing fresh greens alongside reheating the rest of it), but ideally we can mostly pop the meal in tupperware in the fridge and that’ll be good.

Healthy ingredients. Fresh caught fish, organic veggies when possible, high grade meats, etc.

Meal nice-to-haves:

I like a lot of flavor in my food. Strong flavors and dynamic profiles are preferred. I also like spicy food

Open to healthier substitution suggestions. Maybe a meal calls for white rice, but a more complex carb would be an improvement? I’d like to work with someone with experience looking at a holistic diet.

The less prep when reheating food the better. Usually I am grabbing these leftovers as a lunch between meetings, or before going out for the evening. As stated above, I don’t mind a little assembly/prep, but the easier the better.

Variety would be nice too! I don’t mind mostly sticking to healthy staples like curries/rice, but since I’m eating the same meal throughout the week, changing things up week to week is a nice bonus.

If that sounds good to you, hit me up at the email address below! In your initial email, please include all of the following:

Relevant experience

A couple of references

Your personal philosophy about food and nutrition (doesn’t have to be long but give me an idea about your approach)

General sense of your schedule (weekday evenings? Weekends only?)

A pitch for what meal you'd cook for the trial

If I like the look of your email I’ll reach out to schedule cooking a trial meal. The trial meal is the best way for me to find out if we're a good fit. I'll be judging trials based on the requirements and nice-to-haves listed above. I will pay for the trial meal the same as I would for our weekly meal. I will evaluate a few chefs over the next few weeks, then I’ll pick the chef I think is the best fit! Looking forward to hearing from you!
