In our White Center, West Seattle Kitchen we are looking for a Prep Cook ( 40 + hours a week )
Job Responsibilities:
Must Do
1. You would be a prep cook and involved in chopping, cutting, blending, grilling, griddle baking, stove cooking, pot cooking, tilt skillet cooking and other kitchen activities.
2. You would be helping us in any activities right from dishwashing to cleaning the kitchen, inventory management, etc if needed
Additional Responsibilities
3. If you can help us in the food truck, that makes you play a more important role.
Skills and Experiences:
Must haves
A. Worked as a prep or line cook for a restaurant / food truck / caterer for at least 1 year. Indian cuisine is the top preference but Mexican or Asian cuisine also makes you a good candidate. If the above is not present, but the candidate has done pot and stove cooking in other cuisines and is interested in learning this, then we would be interested in talking.
B. Skilled in chopping veggies and meat, portion making, flipping Tortillas, using basic equipment such as mixer, grinder, food processor and obviously knives, and other needed chores such as dishwashing, loading, unloading ingredients as well as cooked food.
Requirements:
Must have a vehicle or be able to use public transport to commute to the kitchen and truck site.
Ability to exert up to 60 pounds of force frequently, and lift up to 120 pounds occasionally.
Ability to grasp, lift, reach, crouch, stand, walk, and carry for long periods of time.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
Super punctual to the kitchen and truck
A positive attitude and loving our food and the job.
Ability to work 40+ hours a week but ready to do over time if needed
