Job Overview:
We are a growing USDA food production kitchen specializing in ready-to-eat meals, salads, and food components prepared in bulk and trays. We are looking for a cook with experience in a restaurant setting who is ready to transition to large-scale production. The role involves hands-on cooking, cutting, chopping, grilling, and packaging of food products in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook large quantities of meals, salads, and food components according to company recipes and specifications
Perform food preparation tasks such as cutting, chopping, grilling, and portioning ingredients
Package food products into bulk and tray formats for distribution
Follow food safety and USDA standards for production, handling, and sanitation
Work efficiently and maintain a fast pace to meet production targets
Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow
Follow directions and guidelines from supervisors while demonstrating initiative and attention to detail
Requirements:
Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a restaurant or food production environment
Ability to transition from small-scale cooking to large-scale production
Strong attention to detail, particularly with portioning, packaging, and food safety
Able to work on your feet for the entire shift and perform tasks that require physical activity such as lifting and handling food products
Punctual, reliable, and prepared to work each day
Ability to follow directions, multitask, and work well with others in a team environment
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand setting
