Our Capitol Hill location is looking for a FT savory prep cook, with a schedule of Wednesday to Sunday, 7 am to 3 pm.
The main duties of our savory prep include:
- Prepare sauces, spreads, jams and other fillings for the sandwich, Viennoiserie and bake stations.
- Prepare cooked vegetable and meat products for use on pizzas and in sandwiches.
- Produce finished savory items, such as specialty sandwiches and savory pastry.
- Report ingredient needs or equipment issues to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
- Keep the station clean, stocked and organized.
- Assist the sandwich station on very busy days.
Qualified candidates will have all or most of the following:
- Recent experience as a prep cook in a moderate to high volume kitchen preferred, or recent completion of a qualified cooking program.
- The ability to read and follow recipes and task lists.
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
- A thorough understanding of food safety.
Physically, you can expect to be:
- Moving and lifting 5 to 15 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Using your hands constantly, including stirring, piping, knife use, and lifting and moving pots and pans.
- Working around hot cooking surfaces and bakery equipment.
We are hiring for 40 hours per week for the days listed above. All employees can qualify for benefits, depending on hours worked.
