Seeking volunteer Camp Hosts at beautiful campground! Jim Creek Military Campground is currently looking for camp host(s) for this summer and this coming winter! You do not need to be military! Jim Creek is located just outside of Arlington, WA. As the camp host you would live onsite in your RV/Camper. We provide a full hook up 40ft RV site at no cost to you. Also includes access to our laundry facility, small gym, and access to our hiking trails and trout stocked lakes.
You would work 3 days and then have 3 days off. Sharing the overall responsibilities with the other camp host pair. The days you work consistently rotate so you are not always working weekends. Your responsibilities would be to clean and care for our 23 campsites and 14 RV sites. This includes cleaning the fire pit, leaf blowing the RV pads, raking the area, weed whacking and mowing your sites and a few other large areas around camp. Your responsibilities also include driving around the campground to make sure everyone is being safe, following the rules and adhering to quiet time and assisting the front office with various small tasks during the day. Once our small gift shop and front office closes for the day, you are responsible for helping guests with any issues or questions they may have after hours. This position is considered physically demanding for some. You must be able to lift 30lbs and wear a backpack style leaf blower. Frequent bending down and getting in and out of a small truck is required. You must be comfortable driving around after dark. Military affiliation is not required but a background check will be performed to acquire the proper access card.
We do not have cell phone service due to our location in the foothills but Starlink seems to be the preferred connection option. There is WiFi available inside the Recreation Building. We allow the camp hosts to have dogs but they must be quiet and well behaved. We cannot allow fenced dog runs outside, unfortunately. This job is appropriate for a couple or a solo person.
