Licensed Massage Therapist, part or full-time

Seattle Massage Sauna and Float combines relaxation with rehabilitation through customized massage therapy, infrared sauna, and floating, for a unique wellness experience. The brand really encompasses this combination, and we obtain better results for the treatment when the client is relaxed. Because we are constantly striving to be better— to provide a better service, client experience, and offer more treatment options— we are almost always looking for more great additions to this already amazing team.

Our therapists are truly pros in every sense of the word, and would love for you to join them. That means they dress, speak, and act like professionals. They are positive, reliable, and punctual. They keep their licenses updated and continuing education completed on-time, and are highly respected for their skills. All of our therapists have clinical training or experience, and some also bring spa experience to the team. It is expected that massages are always customized and focused on the client, bringing in a variety of modalities to achieve positive results. We do not have a “signature” routine massage. The therapists choose which modalities and techniques are appropriate for each client each session, and create a custom massage and treatment plan based on their expertise. This is why we’re now calling it integrative massage therapy, and it’s what sets us apart from a lot of other establishments.

Located in beautiful Madison Valley, our clients are interesting and active, and really just enjoyable people to be around. They have come to expect a high level of an experience with each therapist they see here. Most lead busy lives and rely on us to bring them back in to balance after a long day at work, taking care of kids, at the gym, or on the hiking trails. They rely on us for maintaining their quality of life in a chaotic and ever-challenging world, and we are here for them.

We have a strong positivity-focused team culture and a caring manager with decades of experience in business and people skills, who listens and really has the team's best interests at heart. The owner is also an LMT with 14 years experience massaging, 12 of which running their own business. She understands the unique needs of the role thoroughly. This place was created to be a space that both therapists and clients enjoy and can go to relax, heal, and leave feeling restored. The clients get the massage they need, you get to use your full skillset and feel fulfilled in your work, and everyone is in a beautiful northwest-inspired spa-like environment, with complimentary science-backed modalities of infrared sauna and epsom salt floating, complete with fruit infused filtered water.

Location

Madison Valley is an upscale boutique neighborhood, centrally located in the heart of the city, and positioned between many great neighborhoods including Madison Park, Madrona, Capitol Hill, Leschi and the Central District. It’s close to the arboretum for easy access from the east side to downtown. The main intersection of Madison and MLK is also a corridor from Columbia City, Seward Park, and the other lovely south Seattle neighborhoods. Montlake and the University of Washington are only a stone’s throw away, which makes commuting from the north easy across both bridges. The numbers 8 and 11 busses run right down Madison, including the new rapid ride line that makes commuting here from almost anywhere in the city and surrounding areas convenient and fast. While many of our clients reside between the 90 and the 520, we do have some who travel farther to see their preferred therapists and for the now famous TRIFECTA experience (massage + sauna + float all in one day—the only place in the city that provides all 3). Therapists commute in from all over as well as live within walking distance.

Pay
At 24-26 massage hours a week (32 total hours clocked in the clinic, would be considered full-time), our full-time therapists make approximately $80,000/year. So part-time compensation would depend on how many hours. Most therapists are part-time with a customized schedule for their needs, so their pay is dependent on their hours. Tips are generous. There’s additional pay for PIP appointments, hot stone use, and CBD oil use, as well as potential commission on retail product sales, only if it’s truly helpful to the client, with no high pressure sales.

Shifts
The clinic is open from 9:30am to 8:30pm Monday through Saturday, and 11am - 6pm Sundays. We do not allow people to work more than an 8 hr day (6 hrs of massage MAX), to prevent burnout and to keep the quality of massage focused and intentional. Most of our therapists work about 3-4 appointments a shift but a few do 5-6, at their choice. We customize your schedule so it fits for you and with the rest of the team. Everyone is required to work one weekend shift, with Friday afternoons and evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays understandably being our most in-demand times for appointments, usually with a multiple person waitlist. Alternating weeks for some shifts is also an option. For the right person, we try to make the schedule work.

To Apply
Please send a resume and brief letter stating why you'd be a good fit and what you can contribute to the team. Please list your massage license number and indicate whether it’s currently active in the state of WA. Be sure to check out the website https://seattlemassagepro.com/careers to make sure you understand and align with our core values and mission.

Looking forward to meeting you!
