We are seeking a compassionate and upbeat Female Live-In Caregiver for our 92-year-old mom who has diabetes, unsteady balance, and some dementia. She takes oral diabetes medication and is very social, with a great sense of humor.
REQUIREMENTS:
Personality: Kind, fun, and supportive of Mom’s independence while ensuring her safety.
Communication: Fluent in ASL is ideal, but basic knowledge or willingness to learn is acceptable. Mom is deaf, verbal, lipreads, and you can also communicate via writing.
Driving: Valid license and good driving record needed for errands and appointments. (vehicle provided, there is an insurance rider for caregiver.)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with meal prep (diabetes-friendly), medication administration (weekly organizer managed by live-out CNA), household chores, light cleaning, laundry, errands, shopping, and outings.
Supervise transferring, dressing, showering, and bathroom visits to prevent falls.
Respond to bed alarm at night if Mom gets up.
Take Mom and her small dog to the dog park, one of her favorite activities. (Sorry, we cannot add more pets to the household.)
Provide supervision and companionship in her large yard and beautiful garden, where she loves to spend time.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT:
Room, access to bathroom, kitchen, home, and yard.
Stipend: $1000-$1500 per month.
Schedule: We need to cover 7 days a week, 24/7. Schedule to be determined. Let us know your availability. You will have regular scheduled days off. (Live-out caregivers to provide additional support.)
