Massage Therapist in a Meditative Setting

If you are an experienced massage therapist who values a uniquely quiet, clean, chill and still work environment, who has focused a component of their practice in a gentler, more subtle, more meditative corner of the touch healing modalities, then you are invited to apply at The Still Point.

Located in the charming neighborhood village of Tangletown (near Wallingford), we are a 2 year old, single location, massage therapist owned and operated clinic that is tucked away in a unique mid-century building. It is bright, airy, minimalist, clean, and has 3 beautiful treatment rooms to choose from.

There are currently 9 wonderful (in my opinion) therapists working here who are each unique in their practices, but share a common mission to hold extra safe space for nervous systems. Some of modalities practiced here are: craniosacral therapy, gentle fascial work, manual lymphatic drainage, Rosen method, somatic focused bodywork, breathwork, visceral manipulation, and osteopathic techniques.

We’ve built a reputation around being a uniquely safe space for sensitive folks of all kinds. We see clients living through grief, trauma, ptsd, treatment, transitions, chronic illness, mental stress injuries, surgery, and many other sensitive chapters of their lives. Therapists who have built their work around being versed in providing sessions for these kinds of more sensitive clientele are a plus. That being said, we are also busy with healthy folks who are here to relax. Although many clients can discover new depths of themselves when they work with an experienced therapist who can facilitate a deeper experience for them. We try to make that easy here.

There is no on-site front desk here. All scheduling is done online (and with remote front desk support). Therapists are expected to greet their clients and check them out. There is some flexibility in managing their own schedules and client communication. This is not a good position for new graduates.

Shifts are for 3-4 sessions. After 23 years working as a massage therapist, I feel strongly that 5 is too many sessions to remain truly present for. If you feel strongly that you can do this seeing 5 clients, let’s talk.

Pay is $51.71/per massage hour, plus tips.

You are also paid $17.25/hour for time between clients.

After 12 months, massage hour pay increases to $56.71

We do not offer insurance benefits.

We offer a free monthly 60 minute massage to employees.

We offer monthly free CE opportunities and healing minded social events.

We take 30 minutes between clients.

These shifts are available:

Tuesday PM (approximately 2-8/9pm)

Wednesday AM (approximately 9-3)

Thursday AM (approximately 9-3)

Friday PM (approximately 2-8/9pm)

Saturday AM (approximately 9-330pm)

Saturday PM ((approximately 330-8/9pm)

Sunday AM & PM (approximately 9-330 & 330-8/9pm)

There are regular opportunities to cover other shifts.

I would prefer applicants who are available for more than one shift, but am open to meeting you regardless.

It is important to me that your unique skill set is honored here, and that you can feel centered in the power of your healing work. I am a newer employer, but have been in practice for a long time. I am supportive. I am flexible. I deeply understand this work. If you join us, you are joining a team of friends who see you and support the healing journey you are on, as well as friends who deeply understand the magic we create as bodyworkers.

I look forward to working with you!
