Anticipated Salary Range: $160,000 - $165,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

About the Role:  

Crisis Connections is seeking a visionary, results-driven Senior Director of Clinical Care to lead the strategic direction, development, and continuous improvement of our behavioral health crisis services. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on ensuring the delivery of trauma-informed, equitable, and evidence-based care for individuals across the crisis continuum—from prevention to intervention to postvention.

You will be responsible for overseeing clinical operations, workforce training and development, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and funder relationships. As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll shape clinical strategies that align with industry best practices and help advance our mission: supporting individuals in crisis with compassion, dignity, and excellence.

Team Scope: This role leads a team that includes multiple Clinical Directors (988, 911 Diversion, Regional Crisis Care, Recovery & Peer Services), a Social Work Practicum Manager, and a Clinical Training Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

Clinical Oversight

Maintain high clinical standards and ensure all documentation is timely and compliant.

Supervise clinical staff, volunteers, and interns, supporting a structure of accountability and care.

Equitable and Responsive Care

Deliver culturally relevant and inclusive services through a whole-person care model.

Monitor community needs to ensure services evolve with changing population needs.

Program & Policy Management

Oversee daily operations of mental health and substance use disorder programs.

Design effective program structures, policies, and procedures that enable performance and impact.

Workforce Development

Partner with HR and Operations to develop hiring, training, and onboarding strategies.

Conduct training needs assessments and deliver high-quality, role-specific clinical training.

Ensure access to licensure supervision as resources allow.

Performance Management

Guide program leadership to align with Crisis Connections’ values.

Promote accountability by supporting timely and constructive staff feedback and resolution of issues.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure programs meet all clinical and legal standards.

Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer.

Quality & Outcomes Improvement

Establish clinical performance metrics and continuous feedback loops.

Lead ongoing efforts to improve service quality and outcomes.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Partner with Operations to meet service-level agreements (SLAs), optimize scheduling, and advance workforce/technology initiatives.

Stakeholder & Funder Engagement

Maintain strong relationships with funders and system partners.

Respond to care concerns, lead system improvement efforts, and resolve issues proactively.

Financial Management

Collaborate with the CEO and Finance to develop and manage clinical budgets that align with strategic priorities.

Knowledge And Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of public behavioral health systems.

Extensive knowledge of suicide prevention and crisis management.

Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and complaint resolution.

Ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically, and effectively.

Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.

Exceptional change management and strategic planning ability.

Ability to build and inspire effective teams and hold self and others accountable.

Able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Able to travel across Washington state to attend in-person meetings and conferences.

What you will bring:

Master’s degree in psychology/counseling or social work.

Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200.

Independent licensure as a LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW in Washington State is required.

Minimum five years of executive-level management experience is required.

Minimum of eight years of experience directing behavioral health programs.
