Sound Community Bank is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist who will perform a full range of administrative and operations duties. This position handles project-oriented and day-to-day tasks and must be detail oriented, able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. This position will assist in the coordination of all human resource functions of the bank. This position will be responsible for and not limited to: employee relations, recruiting (job postings through new hire orientation), training resource, managing compliance courses for all employees, required reporting and auditing (SOX, etc.), employee events, overseeing volunteer activities, as well as back-up for processing payroll, assisting in coordination of employee benefits, and back-up for administration support.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree preferred, plus 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A good working knowledge of human resources, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compliance is desired. Trustworthiness and sensitivity are essential. Skill competencies required include, but are not limited to:
Working knowledge of all areas of HR (compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, etc.)
Strong recruiting and onboarding skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
Experience in ADP Workforce Now is preferred, but not required
HRIS knowledge and paperless HR experience is a plus.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Practice flawless ethical behavior and understands the need for confidentiality
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
A credit and criminal background check are required
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Within Bank
The HR Generalist maintains a close working relationship with all personnel in the Human Resources department, as well as working relationships with all staff members within the Bank.
Outside Bank
Position maintains frequent and close working relationships with a variety of business vendors, community leaders, and general public.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility #1
Responsible for the coordination of the following HR functions, but is not limited to:
Recruiting & Onboarding
Oversight of Performance Management system
Processing and maintaining files for personnel files, workers compensation, unemployment claims, and benefits administration including tracking of anniversary dates for benefit eligibility
Manage sensitive and confidential matters regarding employee relations, and organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files
Responsibility #2
Directs and/or implements HR policies; leads the development of the Employee Handbook and Compensation Manuals.
Responsibility #3
Directs employee appreciation events, volunteer activities, and Orca Programs.
Responsibility #4
Provides support for HR projects as needed. This may include, but is not limited to: assistance with salary surveys, grade range scales, and data analysis.
Responsibility #5
Back-up support for aspects of payroll and benefit administration.
