We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Household Manager to support a single father and two children (ages 5 and 8) as we settle into our new home in Lynnwood. The younger child and the father are on the autism spectrum, so experience with and understanding of neurodiversity is highly valued. This role requires a blend of household management and childcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily housekeeping and laundry
Assisting children with morning routines and school preparation
Preparing school lunches and ensuring timely school arrival
Meal planning and preparation, accommodating gluten and dairy sensitivities
Running errands and managing household supplies
Coordinating household schedules and appointments, including finding and scheduling enrichment activities for children
Providing support tailored to the needs of neurodiverse family members
Offering a nurturing presence and occasional female guidance for the children
Adapting to a household in transition, helping to establish order in our new home
Work Environment:
Father works from home approximately half the time, will be less starting in January. (can you guess where i work?)
Late-night work schedules may require extra support in mornings
Flexibility to work independently with children when father is occupied with high-profile technical leadership work
Comfort in taking a leading assistive role or backgrounding as needed
Schedule Options:
Full-time position with early start time (around 6:30 AM)
Potential for split shifts (6:30 AM - 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM)
Opportunities for occasional overnights and travel with the family
Qualifications:
Experience in household management and childcare
Understanding of and experience with neurodiversity, particularly autism spectrum is non-optional.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication abilities, with patience and flexibility
Cooking skills and knowledge of nutritious meal preparation, including gluten-free and dairy-free options
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to provide a warm, nurturing presence for children growing up without a mother
