Earthly Delight Gardens is a boutique landscaping service whose reputation is based on excellent customer service, horticulturally sound practices, and practical solutions to environmental challenges. We are currently looking for a crew member that is excited to learn about horticulture and construction in a low stress, safe environment. We would prefer someone to be available 3-5 days a week, and if you live in West Seattle or thereabouts that would be a bonus.
We are a Design/Build/Maintain business. All work is Poison Free. We work primarily on residential properties helping owners with Fine Gardening, Edibles, Garden Therapy, Rain Gardens, and Restoration.
A strong work ethic and great communication skills are necessary. We work closely with our clients, so appropriate appearance and respectful customer service are needed. We require you to have a smart phone to do time sheets and keep notes. You also must have a reliable vehicle to get between job sites and will be expected to bring some tools and water with you. Mileage is reimbursed. Tools are provided. You should be able to work on your own and in a team situation.
Applicant should be able to follow complex directions in English. This is a very physical job, taking place outdoors in most weather. Applicant must be able to kneel, stand, look up, be able to lift 15 pounds repeatedly and up to 60 pounds occasionally. Good balance required, you may be climbing small trees, ladders and sometimes steep slopes. You must be able to work and move quickly. You will be digging, pruning, moving wheelbarrows, putting together drip systems, setting stone, grading, mulching, weeding and caring for perennials. You will also be learning to identify plants and their needs, safe practices, and sound landscape construction.
A very flexible schedule is offered, along with some scholarship opportunities in horticultural classes. Of course Sick Leave is also part of your benefits.
