Who We Are

At J Szabo Collaborative Landscapes, we craft outdoor spaces that feel like home—thoughtfully designed landscapes that weave together beauty, function, and care. Our passion is bringing homeowners’ dreams to life with a deep respect for the site and the people we serve. We’re a tight-knit team that listens first, works together, and builds with pride, believing that great landscapes create richer lives. If you’re an in-the-trenches leader ready to inspire your crew and bring stunning projects to life, we’d love for you to join us.

What You’ll Do

As a Landscape Superintendent, you’ll be the on-the-ground captain leading our talented crews in building high-end residential landscapes—think stone patios, lush plantings, custom irrigation, and outdoor kitchens that wow. You’ll oversee multiple projects, guiding your teams with hands-on leadership, ensuring every detail reflects our commitment to craftsmanship and connection. You’re pivotal to our daily success, consistently showing up to deliver quality, mentor your crew, and keep the energy high, all while growing your skills with our support.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple landscape construction projects, from planning to completion, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and our high standards of quality.

Guide crews with hands-on leadership, setting goals, resolving conflict, and training them to work smarter, faster, and with ease.

Work closely with the project team—designers, clients, and vendors—to align on vision, tackle challenges, and implement change orders seamlessly.

Read and interpret construction plans, and specifications to deliver precise, high-quality results.

Keep safety first by leading regular site inspections and crew huddles, ensuring everyone follows best practices and stays safe.

Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and material orders, using software tools to keep things on track.

Maintain accurate records for payroll, job costing, and project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Embody our commitment to thoughtful, collaborative work, creating landscapes that resonate with beauty and purpose.

What You Bring

3+ years of hands-on landscape construction experience, with at least 2 years of increasing responsibility in a leadership or supervisory role.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.

Proficiency with basic project management software (e.g., scheduling apps, time-tracking tools, Microsoft Office) and an aptitude for picking up new administrative tools.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and team members throughout the project lifecycle; Spanish fluency is desired.

Deep knowledge in core disciplines (softscape, paving, masonry, irrigations, grading, drainage, irrigation, light carpentry, stone and steel walls, hardscapes, irrigation, and Pacific Northwest plants), with a hunger to grow in other areas — we’ll help you get there!

A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for crafting beautiful spaces and supporting a team that thrives together.

A degree in construction management or a related field is a plus but not required—your real-world experience and past success speak loudest.

Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all Seattle weather.

Why Work With Us?

We’re more than a landscaping company—we’re a team dedicated to creating spaces that inspire and uplift. Here’s what you’ll enjoy as part of our team: Great Pay + Solid Benefits. Paid time off including holidays and vacations, to support a balanced life. A Toolset to Thrive that supports your most effective work.
