JOB OVERVIEW
The Utility Services Technician for Meydenbauer Center is responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of Meydenbauer Center’s technical services systems for events clients, their vendors, exhibitors and guests. These systems include the delivery of electrical power, wired broadband and wireless internet service, cable TV and telephone services. In addition, the Utility Services Technician supports a range of related special projects as needed. A high level customer service will be maintained through direct contact with our clients and quests.
At times, the Utility Services Technician will be the sole point of contact for the department and may be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Set up, monitor and maintain temporary high voltage electrical power.
Distribute, monitor and maintain hardwired internet connections as needed in support of events.
Configure, monitor and maintain wireless internet networks as needed in support of events.
Maintain and operate the PBX and background music systems.
Install and maintain hanging signage and specialty décor.
Provide consistent, high level customer service to clients, exhibitors, and attendees.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment for clients, guests and team members.
Participate in special projects that involve building or assembling equipment and wiring.
Participate in department inventory and maintenance processes, as well as the ongoing development of standard operating procedures for the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One to two years of experience in technical service systems setup, trouble shooting, operation and maintenance.
Previous experience with temporary electrical power in event, public facility and/or theatrical settings.
Previous experience with network cabling, troubleshooting of signal flow/signal path.
Two years of internal or external customer service experience.
Knowledge of safety practices and requirements relative to equipment used in facilities and public assembly spaces.
Familiarity with PC and Mac devices and operating systems, Wi-Fi, android, devices.
Proficiency with common electrical test equipment and hand tools.
Ability to safely operate a forklift and/or scissor lift and work comfortably at heights.

The employee typically lifts and/or moves 25-100 pounds.
