Job Summary:
We are seeking a Registrar to join our fine art gallery team. The Registrar will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of all artworks, including details, pricing, condition, movement, etc. Experience/knowledge of fine art required.
Responsibilities:
Admin:
add all artworks into internal database and Artsy database, including visual and supplemental documentation
Update locations, pricing, status of artworks within internal database
Update artwork intake and condition report in database upon receiving at gallery
Create consignment paperwork for client visits and save
Create certificates of authenticity/insurance valuation documents for clients
Update inventory information in appropriate calendar appointments
Update calendar with exhibition deadlines, dates, and information
Maintain organization of artist folders on server, consolidating exhibition folders and tidying up image files
Artists:
Send artists exhibition deadlines and image/document file requirements, connect about receiving work at gallery/returning artwork
Send artists production requests for prints/photography, confirm edition numbers, send shipping/delivery details and follow up for tracking information and costs
Connect with artists about any artwork condition issues
Confirm safe delivery of artworks to gallery with artists
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a registrar in a fine gallery or similar administrative role preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- Proficient in post-production techniques using Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in social media management for film-related content
- Basic photography skills
