In Store Services, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated Fabrication Shop Manager to join our team to contribute to the overall success of In Store Services, Inc.
This position supports our clients/customers during the estimating and installation phases of all projects, working collaboratively as a team to ensure the project is accurately bid and executed as estimated with the Project Manager(s).
This position includes the following responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
Supervise all daily activities in the cabinet and paint shop to ensure quality, keeping with schedules, and staying within budget. Includes ordering of materials for shop/inventory.
Develop and administer a system of scheduling all projects which is easily understood and shared with management.
Daily review progress on all projects.
Inspect all projects before they leave the shop for quality and adherence to plans.
Only after the above items have been adequately addressed should any fabrication by the foreperson be undertaken.
Provide technical assistance and coaching to less experienced team members.
Assure that all equipment is maintained in good working order and that all safety rules and policies are adhered to. Recommend eq. replacement and/or purchases to management.
Meet at least once per week with General Manager and Project Managers to review schedule plans including deadlines, installation needs, work hours, and any other perinatal information that may be necessary.
Forward completed work orders to PM/Accounting.
Review and approve Fabrication Shop time cards.
Work in coordination with the General Manager & Project Managers to estimate new projects (including but not limited to New Stores, Remodels, and Tenant Improvement Projects). Includes estimating fabrication shop labor and materials costs, which includes review of contract requirements, scope, specifications,
producing complete take-offs to assist in compiling pricing estimates.
Perform field measurements/inspections as needed. Preparation of shop drawings in CAD as needed/coordination with CAD Designer.
Perform additional assignments per the Supervisor’s direction and/or as needed.
Candidate must demonstrate an advanced understanding and knowledge of cabinet design, fabrication (AWI), and assembly of cabinet systems, as well as estimating and project cost controls. Ability to read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings and specifications. Must be dependable, highly motivated, independent, and organized individual skilled at meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, and producing high-quality work. Advanced computer (CAD, Excel, and Project Management Software) and project administrative/document control skills required. A clean driving record is a must. Pre-employment background check, drug testing, and health check may be required.
