Your Impact

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Composite Technician I to join our team at HO Sports Company, a leading water ski manufacturing company. This role involves precision work in cutting carbon fiber sheets using a die stamp machine, as well as utilizing a bandsaw and various hand tools to process and finish production parts. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with composite materials, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in our production process. What You’ll Do

Operate a die stamp machine to cut carbon fiber sheets according to specified designs.

Use a bandsaw to trim and shape materials for production components.

Setting up composite parts for fabrication by correctly interpreting and building from engineering drawings and spec/data sheets, planning, understanding tooling and materials, sequence of operations and techniques required for fabrication.

Pull finished parts from molds.

Utilize a variety of manual hand and powered tools and equipment. Along with performing part-fitting operations that require trimming, filing, drilling, sanding and reaming.

Tape off mold areas which are not to be laminated, using cellophane, wax paper, masking tape, or special sprays containing mold-release substances.

Utilize hand tools including drills, files, and table saw to further process and refine parts.

Ensure accuracy and precision in all cutting and shaping processes to meet quality standards.

Inspect finished parts for defects and imperfections, making necessary adjustments.

Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely completion of parts for assembly.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.

Assist in inventory management by tracking materials and reporting supply needs.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.

Perform adhesive bonding.

Repair or modify damaged or defective glass-fiber parts, checking thicknesses, densities, and contours to ensure a close fit after repair.

Monitor and report inventory status.

Documentation and Reporting of work performed.

Effectively respond to questions from engineers and managers.

Operate forklift and overhead gantry hoists.

What You’ve Accomplished

Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably working with composite materials.

Proficiency in operating die stamp machines, bandsaws, and various hand tools (drills, files, table saw, etc.).

Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow production specifications.

Familiarity with MS Office 365.

Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.

Capacity to work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.

Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move materials as needed.

Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Machinist/Mechanic Craftsman skills required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, technical and procedure manuals, short correspondences, and memos.
