Position Summary:PNP is looking for a reliable, hardworking craftsperson to assist in the manufacturing of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) floating structures. PNP's HDPE products are used in a variety of applications including, but not limited to debris management, public safety, wave attenuation, fisheries conservation, water quality management, and marina infrastructure. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a positive attitude, and be able to work independently or with a team. PNP will provide on the job training (e.g., rigging, lifting, specialty tool safety and use). PNP will also provide an opportunity to obtain industry standard certifications for select candidates. Essential Duties:Perform various fabrication tasks using a variety of materials including HDPE pipe and sheeting, steel, wood, hardware, fiber reinforced plastic, vinyl, rubber, and other materialsRead and interpret plan drawings and orders to select the correct materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work.Fabricate and assemble products per directions, plan/shop drawings and specificationsFollow quality control procedures to ensure fabricated products meet required standardsMaintain accurate inventory of materials usedAssist with organizing materials and tools and preparing for upcoming projectsBundle and package materials for storage and shippingLoad and unload raw materials and finished products Maintain clean work area and equipment; and always follow Health Safety and Environmental proceduresPerform duties and responsibilities in accordance with Pacific Netting Products company policies and proceduresOperate fusion and extrusion welding equipment, handheld and power tools, saws and cutting equipment, forklifts and other equipment per safety regulations and manufacturer instructionsPerform other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Working knowledge of power tools used in fabrication, cutting, and measuringWorking knowledge of basic carpentry and hand toolsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to read and interpret safety rules and operation, maintenance, and procedures manualsAbility to read and interpret plan/shop drawings for fabricationAbility to understand/perform basic math functions of plane geometry, fractions, percentages, and ratiosAbility to interpret technical instructions in written mathematical and diagram formPosition requires forklift certification and on-the-job training/certification in fusion and/or extrusion weldingOff-site travel may be required for installation of PNP finished products.Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:Experience in construction, welding, fusing preferredPrior fabrication experience and fusion qualification a plus Trade and/or vocational education a plus.High School diploma or GED preferredDependable and reliable: Shows up every day on time, completes work in timely mannerAvailable: Willing to work extended hours and overtime as needed to complete the workResponsible: Takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments, and completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate planSafety and Security Aware: Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properlyEfficient and Organized: Prioritizes and plans work activities to meet deadlines, uses time efficientlyEmbraces Teamwork & Professionalism: Balances team and individual responsibilities, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, supports everyone's efforts to succeed, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or positionStrives for both Quality and Quantity in work product: Works efficiently and with accuracy, looks for ways to improve and promote the effectiveness of fabrication operations, audits own work to ensure quality and accuracy, demonstrates attention to detail, strives to increase productivityPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
