Position Title: Vice President of Inside/Outside Sales

Position Summary
The Vice President of Inside/Outside Sales will play a critical role in leading and overseeing all sales functions within the company, both for inside (account management, customer service) and outside sales (business development, key account acquisition). This executive will drive the development of sales strategies, cultivate new business opportunities, and build lasting relationships with customers in the food packaging and manufacturing industries. The VP will be responsible for growing revenue, expanding market share, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader with experience in the food packaging, manufacturing, or related industries, demonstrating a proven ability to manage large sales teams, enter new markets, and execute growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership and Strategy
o Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for both inside and outside sales teams to meet or exceed revenue targets.
o Lead the sales organization, setting clear goals, metrics, and KPIs for inside and outside sales operations.
o Continuously analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activities to adjust sales strategies and drive growth.
2. Business Development and Market Expansion
o Identify new business opportunities in both existing and untapped markets within the food packaging and manufacturing sectors.
o Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers across the food industry, including food producers, processors, retailers, and distributors.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to create customized solutions that meet market demands.
3. Team Management and Development
o Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, including both inside and outside sales personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
o Provide ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and development opportunities to ensure team growth and success.
o Ensure the alignment of sales teams with broader company objectives and customer needs, maintaining a customer-centric sales approach.
4. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
o Implement and oversee effective CRM processes and tools to manage and enhance customer relationships across all sales channels.
o Drive customer retention by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and value delivery, maintaining strong communication and long-term partnerships.
o Regularly engage with key accounts and major clients, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service and innovative packaging solutions.
5. Sales Operations and Pipeline Management
o Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and revenue projections, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and growth targets.
o Implement and maintain efficient sales operations processes, including lead generation, sales pipeline management, and reporting.
o Regularly analyze sales performance data, providing insights and actionable recommendations to the executive team.
6. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
o Work closely with marketing, product development, operations, and finance teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
o Collaborate with the production and supply chain teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of packaging products to customers, addressing any operational challenges as needed.
o Lead the integration of customer feedback into product development and service improvement initiatives.
7. Market Insights and Competitive Analysis
o Stay updated on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation.
o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, establishing thought leadership and expanding the company’s visibility in the food packaging and manufacturing sectors.
8. Revenue Growth and Profitability
o Drive initiatives to increase sales volume, profit margins, and overall company profitability.
o Develop pricing strategies and negotiate high-value contracts with key customers, ensuring the company’s competitiveness in the marketplace.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
Experience:
o 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the food packaging, manufacturing, or related industries.
o Proven track record of building and scaling successful sales teams, developing strategic sales plans, and achieving significant revenue growth.
o Strong knowledge of B2B sales, market expansion strategies, and client relationship management.
o Experience with CRM systems and sales automation tools.

Salary Range: $200,000 to $280,000 DOE
