Our Front Desk Assistants provide friendly customer service to our campus community. This is a part-time temporary position with long-term potential. This role is great for higher ed students, people who want to make a career change or semi-retirees, and all those looking for a part-time or secondary income. This isn’t a job where you just punch a timecard; we want you to be a part of our awesome team. FDAs should expect a range of activity, including some very busy days and other days where you will have time to read a book or study.

Responsibilities:
Front Desk Assistants (FDA) are responsible for managing the campus front desk and welcome areas, greeting visitors, assisting students with general information, and ensuring that classes run smoothly by supporting instructors. Being the first point of contact on campus, the FDAs respond to requests from current and prospective students, instructors, and event attendees with an attentive and courteous mind-set. Additionally, this position helps with administrative tasks, inventory management, and event support as needed.
This position reports to the Operations Coordinator.
Duties include the following:
Front desk coverage
Staffing campus for evening, weekend, and holiday hours (note: holiday shifts are filled on a volunteer basis)
Providing customer service support to students and faculty
Supporting campus events as needed
Data entry
Maintaining the campus common areas in a clean and stocked manner (including coffee, tea, etc.)
Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED)
Ability to work in the US
Punctuality and commitment to scheduled shifts
Detail oriented, with a focus on quality and accuracy
Positive interpersonal communication skills (in person/phone/email)
Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
Quick learner in a technical environment that includes video conferencing equipment, printers, copiers, and computers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Previous office and customer service experience preferred.
Experience in Higher Ed or other educational environment a bonus but not required.
Additional Information
This is a part time, non-benefited position working 12 to a maximum of 30 hours per week. Rate of pay is $19.97 per hour. The schedule generally consists of 6 to 8 hours shifts Monday - Friday (4:00pm – 10:00pm) and Saturday - Sunday (9:00am – 9:00pm). Saturday shifts of up to 12 hours may be available if preferred by candidate. Daytime shifts may be available. Daytime holiday shifts and shift coverage for other FDAs are filled on a volunteer basis. All work shifts are in person, on campus. Our buildings are in the South Lake Union neighborhood, easily accessible via multiple bus routes.
