Seasonal Retail Sales Associate

Reports To: Store Manager, Bellevue
Position Summary: The Seasonal Retail Sales Associate’s #1 priority always is the customer. This role is ideal for someone who is outgoing and unafraid to approach guests to genuinely engage them in conversation.
The Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at Fran’s Chocolates must be passionate about learning about our products and services and demonstrate a desire to share that knowledge with our customers.
Essential Functions:
Models the Fran’s Customer Service Standards with all guests.
Knowledgeable and proficient in technology in order to accurately and efficiently process customer transactions professionally and in compliance with the Fran’s Chocolates policy - sales, returns, gift cards, mail orders, etc.
Under the direction of store management, maintain store operations and visual merchandising standards to ensure a ‘grand opening’ look and feel to our customers each day.
Take pride in the presentation of each product in the store; communicate this pride to customers.
Enjoys tasting and learning about chocolate and confections.
Ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Inspire our customers with Fran’s Chocolates’ unique product offerings through product knowledge, Fran’s Story, and understanding the chocolate through tastings.
Understand customers’ needs to be able to make meaningful suggestions for their purchases.
Complete all required training modules and have a clear understanding of available tools and resources to enhance the customer experience.
This Seasonal role will spend 90% of their time on an active sales floor speaking with customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
2 years of customer service in a retail/specialty food/restaurant/coffee service environment.
Demonstrate consistent selling behaviors that inspire our customers towards a greater connection with our chocolates and confections.
Exhibits a positive attitude, can do, and is customer first with all guests.
Ability to follow directions and display a sense of urgency surrounding tasks.
Willingness to clean/sanitize the store sales floor, backroom, and other areas of the business on a regular rotation.
Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities.
Able to self-motivate and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Ability and aptitude with Microsoft Office365 and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functions in a business environment.
Clear nationwide criminal background check.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Mental Requirements – Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that creates confidence and trust.
Physical Requirements – long periods of standing, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, lifting and twisting, talking on the phone, working with office/computer equipment, attend quarterly team meetings, and talking to co-workers and to customers.
Timeframe: Depending on the retail location & season hired, a Seasonal Sales Associate can expect to be scheduled to work during a period of peak sales expectations, which can take place during one (or more) of the following timeframes: Holiday Season in November & December, Valentine’s Peak in early February, Summer tourist peak, etc.
