The Manager, Security & Risk Management supports property safety, security, loss prevention and compliance, by reviewing security footage and investigating incidents that occur across managed properties. This role evaluates video evidence related to accidents, tenant complaints, security breaches, vandalism, and liability claims. The Manager identifies contributing factors, documents findings, and prepares clear incident reports for law enforcement, legal counsel, and insurance partners.
This position works closely with Property Managers, Maintenance, Leasing, and other security vendors to recommend corrective actions, improve site safety procedures, and reduce operational, financial, and liability risks. The Manager also ensures every incident investigations follow company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Since this is an on-call position that is flexible, the position would work well alongside another part- or full-time job. We are looking for someone with a background in the security and risk management to help improve security measures concerning the properties we manage. While the position is on-call, we are looking to expand the roles responsibilities over time and seek a professional to grow with the organization.
Location: Remote (Access to company’s office space in Seattle, Lynnwood and Everett offices are available)
Hours: Varies (Flexible schedule: On-call and the number of incidents can vary).
Position: Spare to Part-time, contractor role
Salary: $20.00+ per hour (Negotiable)

Duties:
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Investigate and review security footage of incidents that occur across managed properties
Download relevant footage for law enforcement, legal counsel, or insurance partners
Document findings internally for each incident. Maintain office files and records if necessary.
Perform file and security audits. Report any discrepancies to the Property Manager.
Support the team with all written communication that follows the policies, procedures, and business practices of Umano Property Management
Other tasks, duties and projects as directed by Company Owner
Required Qualifications:
At least (1) year as Security officer, Security Supervisor, Security Manager, Access Control specialist, CCTV operator, Loss prevention officer, or Investigation Specialist or equivalent.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Access to high-speed internet
Strong written and verbal communication skills including reading, writing and speaking
Basic mathematical proficiency
Able to type 35-40 wpm
Highly organized and close attention to detail.
Great time management and ability to prioritize well
Prolific work ethic and ability to multi-task and to work and problem solve independently
Excellent dispute resolution skills with a passion for positive outcomes
Preferred qualifications
Experience working in property management or related field
Basic understanding of real estate investment and property management
