JOB SUMMARY: The Natural Resources Enforcement Deputy Chief is responsible for oversight and supervision of all aspects of the department to insure treaty fishing, hunting and gathering harvests are lawfully and safely conducted. Maintains peace and order and enforces all applicable tribal laws and ordinances, primarily the Fishing and Hunting Codes. Issues citations to violators, conducts applicable investigations, makes arrests and provides testimony in court as needed. The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux Sklai Yem or The Strong People, are descendants of the Salish peoples with ancestral ties to the Kitsap Peninsula that date back at least 1,000 years.
