Hi!
My company makes remote network appliances which collect various sensor readings from remote telecom sites. We are creating a centralized management application using Node, React, Postgres, etc. The application is close to being released but one area which is lacking is having a number of stock reports which show the analysis and understanding which the data is capable of providing. For example generator fuel fillup, fuel usage, power consumption, power outages, etc. We have a fairly primitive but workable GUI reports designer. However the datasets are not creatable/editable in the reports designer, rather they need to be crafted under the hood. We have created several reports which can be used to a large extent as templates for the new reports. In many cases a stored procedure is required to do specialized processing in order to create the secondary dataset needed for the report. Its your job to understand the various "information" we need to pull out of the raw data and to see how that info can be extracted from the primary raw datasets, and to create the underlying secondary datasets needed to generate the necessary report.
Applicants need SQL query skills (Postgres preferred), ability to create a SQL view, ability to create a SQL stored function and/or stored procedure (preferably Postgres experience), ability to write SQL insert statements to add a datasource, datasource fields, etc, ability to create node.js migrations to add SQL views, stored procedures, stored functions to production, ability to create node.js seeders to add reports, report charts, datasources, datasource fields to production, ability to create endpoints in node.js using Sequelize for report data and report chart data functions, ability to make minor modifications to React.js to add new parameters to the UI, ability to create node.js model functions using Sequelize.
You will need a fast grasp of report concepts and what these reports are trying to show and connecting that to an understanding of the primary raw data and now to get the analysis out of that data, and then putting all the pieces together to make the report. You will start by having a conversation with me and/or others to understand each report needed one by one. Then you will craft an "example" of the report using excel and get that OKed. Then you will go to work making the report. And when you have that one done you will go to the next report. I probably have about 30 reports or more I need created. At first the reports will mostly be text but they we will improve them with graphs. We have a graphing capability right now but it could use some aesthetic improvement,
