Construction Superintendent - Custom Residential

MRA (Miovic Reinhardt Associates) seeks a Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a site Superintendent, you're the go-to person on the construction site, responsible for keeping things running smoothly from start to finish. Your role involves overseeing all on-site activities, and ensuring that work is completed with requisite craft, safely, on schedule, and within budget. This means coordinating with subcontractors, managing labor crews, and ensuring that quality standards are met at every stage of the project. Effective communication is key as you collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address any issues that arise and keep everyone informed of progress. Your leadership and attention to detail are essential in driving the project forward and ensuring its success while maintaining a positive and productive work environment for all involved.

RESPONSIBILITIES

>Deliver a very high level of client experience and foster positive client engagement throughout the construction process.

>Oversee all aspects of on-site construction activities, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of subcontractors and labor crews.

>Participate in the pre-construction phase to identify, evaluate, and implement quality schedule and cost improvements.

>Anticipate and work out unresolved construction details and provide annotated drawings and documents to the appropriate parties.

>Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues, address design changes, and ensure project compliance.

>Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that work meets or exceeds project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

>Monitor project progress and performance metrics to track milestones, identify risks, and implement strategies to mitigate delays or cost overruns.

>Document project activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders, and maintain accurate records for project documentation and reporting purposes.

>Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.

>Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to site personnel, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

>Maintain and display a positive attitude while effectively communicating expectations to on-site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

>(3) – (8) years experience in the position of Superintendent of projects at or over $1 million.

>Custom single-family ground-up project experience required.

>Experience managing one or more small crews on multiple job sites.

>Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.

>Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and schematics.

>Excellent organizational and time management skills.

>Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentorship skills.

>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

>Exacting standards for high-quality building and work practices.

>Well-versed in a range of software tools such as Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, etc.

>Experience with sustainable building systems, materials, and techniques is a huge plus.

>Certified Passive House Builder training is a huge plus.

>Experience with spec residential and/or commercial TI construction is a plus.
