Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Diesel Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marine systems and diesel engine repair, with a commitment to safety, integrity, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete engine overhauls, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines and related systems in marine vessels.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure vessel meet all safety and compliance.
- Lead and collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in marine diesel engines preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a marine diesel mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge or ability to learn diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license; marine certifications are a plus.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and random drug tests
- Must provide your own set of tools
- Able to lift 50 lbs
