Ideal candidates will have the following attributes:
-Wants to work 4 - 10 hour shifts and have Fridays off
-Looking to build a career within the low voltage electrical industry and become a licensed electrician (EL06)
-Comfortable working on commercial construction sites
-Has basic programming skills and willing to expand on them
-Has basic TCP/IP networking skills and willing to build upon them
-Willing to commute to and work in the downtown Seattle area every day (prefer candidates closer to Seattle area, but willing to consider others who live farther out)
-Comfortable doing repetitive tasks
-Comfortable working alone or part of a team
-Eager problem solver and "fixer of things"
Smart-Tek Communications USA Inc. is looking for a motivated, capable and reliable WA 06 electrical trainee / apprentice / electrician to be part of a small but growing team in the Seattle area.
Projects will focus within downtown Seattle and downtown Bellevue.
Qualifications:
Valid and current WA 06 trainee card
Willingness to collaborate with relevant contractors, site superintendents and project managers
Trustworthy
Clean WA State DMV license
Must be able to pass a background check
Own basic hand tools
Knowledge and experience with:
Cabling
Working on construction sites
Strong handyman skills
Door locking mechanisms
Basic computer networking skills - TCP/IP, DHCP, Routers, Switches, etc.
Job Type: Full-time with immediate start date
Compensation hourly: from $25.00+ hour DOE
Stepped compensation program with $40.00 / hour at end of 4000 hours earned
Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Graduate level education preferred.
Washington State Electrical trainee card: 06 Trainee Card (Required)
Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday (four 10 hour days / week) from 6:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime / Friday work is available.
