The J Squared Investments team are the owner/managers of a portfolio of historic, commercial buildings; four in the heart of downtown Tacoma and one adjacent to the Tacoma Mall. We have a stellar reputation in the South Sound area that sets us apart from the average property management group.
We are offering an excellent full-time opportunity for a self-motivated, reliable, preferably experienced, and solution-oriented maintenance technician. Must have a clean, verifiable work history and be a "no drama team player".
Experience needed includes good problem-solving-abilities, a working understanding of HVAC systems and controls, basic plumbing repairs (faucets, flush-mechanisms, etc.), fundamentals of electrical systems, (occasional circuit tracing) lighting repair (bulb and/or ballast changes), door closures and other generalized repair skills are required.
The right candidate CAN be trained in some areas, but not from the ground up.
We have two positions open, a 6:30am-2:30pm opening shift which includes: general building exterior/perimeter cleanup, landscape and parking lots/garage maintenance, and graffiti removal. Touch-up painting is also handled by our team.
A second, 9am - 5pm shift also needs to be filled. The bulk of your time on this shift would be responding to work orders and making sure the buildings are secure at the end of the day.
Occasionally team members may be asked to assist one of our construction crews to help keep move-ins on schedule if their timeline is tight.
Great communication and people-skills are required to join this family-owned enterprise, with an already "easy-going and easy-to-get-along-with" team, which we'd like to keep as such.
$30 - $40/hr starting pay, depending on skills/experience plus:
$1000 sign-on bonus after 90-day probation period.
