HARDWOOD FLOORING INSTALLER / FINISHER

MUST LIVE IN KITSAP COUNTY

We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice (no experience) or Lead (experienced) to join our team. Fun personality, willing and able to work in a stressful/loud environment, can work with a team and independently. Experience in a customer-service related field is a plus, as you will interact with homeowners/contractors frequently. An individual that is detail orientated and focused on providing quality craftsmanship.

Apprentice - no flooring experience required, on-the-job training. Familiarity with basic tools is a plus. May take on solo tasks in time. Hourly pay ranges $20-$23 approx.

Lead - hardwood flooring experience specifically is required. Capable of taking on solo tasks quickly. Should be familiar with all tools and machinery used in this field, and know how to operate them properly. We can train you on BONA Products if necessary. Hourly pay ranges $23-$35 approx. Subject to change based on your experience.

Starting pay is based on experience. Raises are based on performance. Strong candidates will do an in-person interview followed by a paid working-interview to ensure best fit for both parties.

Background checks will be run for strong candidates following an in-person interview.

Major holidays are paid following the probationary period.

Services/Duties

We install hardwood - prefinished, unfinished, solid, engineered - Cork, Bamboo and LVP.

Demolition and disposal of hardwood, carpet, tile, LVP, and laminate.

Occasional plywood subfloor work

Installation (floating, staple/nail, trowel glue)

Refinish / Buff & Topcoat / Deep Clean of flooring and stairs

Repairs such as board replacements and superficial touch-ups

Staining unfinished floors when installing or refinishing

Occasional removal of doors, manufacturing, and installation of custom transition/reducers. Stair tread/risers manufacturing.

This line of work is quite physically demanding as it involves hours spent on knees, feet, heavy lifting, and driving. Also, mentally challenging as hardwood flooring is a craft, requiring attention to detail, creative thinking, and problem-solving.

Requirements

Ability to lift 40+ lbs solo. Heavier with assistance.

Clean driving record, valid/current driver's license, and reliable transportation

Must live in Kitsap County

Provide professional references

Customer service experience

Ability to work independently and as a team

Need To Know

40 hours of Paid Time Off is given after 1 year of employment. Sick Time builds based on WA laws

Small tools are not provided; a list will be provided upon hire

Larger tools and machinery are provided

A company vehicle is provided during work hours; occasional use of a personal vehicle may be requested, with the right to refuse

Shift is Monday through Friday, 7 am-3 pm approx.

Overtime is likely in the spring and fall. Throughout summer, our busiest season, overtime is frequently necessary. Overtime in winter varies.

Weekend work is rare, occasionally offered with the right to refuse
