Industrial Large Baler Field Technician

Well established 30-year-old Auburn based company seeks experienced Industrial Equipment Expert for the position of Field Service Technician. This position would primarily handle massive equipment (two ram, single ram, horizontal balers, transpak compactors and conveyors) for municipalities, transfer stations and recyclers. Other equipment to be serviced would include apartment style compactors, vertical balers, pallet jacks and dock levelers as needed.

Some on the job training will be provided however the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of:

Specific Skills Needed:

General Mechanical Systems

Ability to read hydraulic diagrams and understand hydraulic circuits, as well as the function and repair of hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pumps.

Ability to read electrical diagrams and understand electric circuits and use of multi-meter troubleshooting.

Ability to safely perform light rigging duties for moving large parts, hydraulic cylinders, motors, steel weldments, etc. with forklift or crane assistance.

Ability to work in a team setting for larger service projects.

Basic knowledge of process logic controllers

Welding skills, especially field stick welding repairs, pipe welding and metal fabrication

Training and Background Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 2 years hydraulic equipment repair/troubleshooting experience

Other Job Requirements:

Self-Starter capable of working independently.

Ability to talk to customers professionally regarding repair options.

Excellent attendance

Washington State Driver’s license and clean driving record as evidenced by driving record abstract.

Good paperwork, recordkeeping, and reporting skills

Safe job performance history and good employment references

Periodically overtime work and out of town work will be required on evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet our customers needs and significant hours of overtime can be anticipated in connection with major projects.

Summary of Benefits

 Personal Sick and Safety Time (PSST): Accumulates from first day of employment at 1-hour for every 40-hours worked. Up to 40-hrs can be rolled over annually. PSST is in addition to Vacation Pay.

 40-Hours Vacation after 6-months. 80-Hours after one full year with incremental annual increases up to 4-weeks.

 Health Insurance: Available after sixty days of employment. Company pays 75% of employee premiums. Employee has the option of a Health Savings Account (HSA) program or a traditional Health Insurance program.

 Company Matching Retirement Program: Access to BER Personal Financial Planner. SIMPLE IRA with company match of up to 3% of annual salary. Available after one year of employment.

 Profit Sharing: Bonus paid out in December based on annual profit as outlined in Employee Handbook.

 Training in industrial compaction and recycling equipment repair.

 Payday is every other Friday

 Dedicated service truck. Technician to commute from home directly to service calls on most days.
